RAW FOR LENT 3.0!

Hey everyone! I've been a terrible little blogger, but I am back for 40 days of Raw III. As we learned year one, it's actually more like 46, and this leap year will be 47!

My bar was overrun by really drunk ridiculous folks on Mardi Gras, but I had a good time.

Anyway, day one was easy. I spent most of today at the barn, so drank a coconut water before riding, then went to work. After work I did my stock up: chia seeds, raw almonds/cashews/pecans, red kale, tomatoes, grapefruit, grapes, red pepper, avocados and because I was suddenly famished right then, a cruditee platter and guacamole.

And yeah, dude, ate all that cruditee platter. Cauliflower, grape tomatoes, baby carrots, celery and broccoli. No shame.

I would also like to let everyone know that I will be on tour for most of the month of March as LAM! LAM! and would love to meet anyone (or crash on couches!) and will definitely take advice on any raw spots, because I am certain that I am going to get sick of gas station bananas and apples. The schedule thus far is as follows:

3/13 - Hattiesburg, MS @ Crowbar
3/14 - SxSW (**still searching for showcases, if you can help out.)

Bring the individual packets of Vega. Lots of them. The don't need to be refrigerated.

Does the Vega require blender mixing, or is a spoon ok? And how does it fare in water? :)

You're supposed to mix it with water. Get a blender bottle, shake, and you're good to go. It's what I use every day. Just make sure you get the packets, not the tub, because it's a "refrigerate after opening" kind of thing.

That Blender bottle thing looks awesome...sadly it looks like Vega's powder is only 30% raw. I suppose I could schlep around my Sun Warrior.

Thanks so much Kyle!

My bad. I thought the powder was raw for some reason. The Vega bars definitely are, though. Stock up on the "vibrancy" ones for the road. I feel like good protein will be hard to come by.

Scratch that. I just went to the website. The vibrancy bars that say they're raw are actually 85% raw. The energy bars are 100% raw. More sugary, but probably still a good thing to pack on the road. 10g protein.

I've got the Pure bars and Raw organic cinnamon raisin. I may go ahead and order the vega too, just to be safe. And the stupid sunwarrior. Although it tastes way better in almond milk than water.
